About Coleman
A few years prior to World War One, W.C. Coleman brought his new gasoline lanterns to rural America, changing the way the population lived and worked. Coleman products such as this gas lantern and a small, portable gas stove, were popularized during both World Wars, as U.S. troops depended on them for light and food. When the wars were over, American families took up a newly popularized pastime: camping. Coleman products became a symbol of this new recreational activity, through constant innovation in products such as the legendary Coleman cooler.
